Thus far the Democrats have refused to support securing our borders first. They are not listening to the American public who are demanding border security first. They tried to ram-rod through a comprehensive immigration bill that over 80% of the American public were against.
EARMARKS
When the Democrats took over the majority in 2006 they promised complete transparency with legislative items. Today, March 12, 2007 they are refusing to allow Earmarks to be presented and debated with a bill before the House of Representatives. The Democrats are now trying to hide all Earmarks until after a bill has been debated.
